The British Longhair is a rare and majestic breed, best known for its luxurious coat, teddy bear-like appearance, and calm, affectionate temperament. A rare and elegant variation of the traditional British Shorthair, the British Longhair carries a recessive longhair gene that occasionally appears in select bloodlines. This unique trait, when expressed, produces a plush, semi-long coat while preserving the iconic stocky build, broad face, and calm temperament that make British cats so treasured.

Appearance:

British Longhairs are instantly recognisable by their:

• Plush, semi-long coat with a dense undercoat

• Rounded face with full cheeks and expressive, large round eyes

• Strong, cobby body structure with short, sturdy legs and a thick tail

• Wide variety of coat colors and patterns — from classic blues and lilacs (like Haifa) to more exotic bi-colors (like Amoor) and smokes

Their fur is soft, luxurious, and surprisingly low-maintenance compared to other longhaired breeds, requiring only occasional brushing to keep matting at bay.
